CHANGING LIVES SINCE 1999
MALTA's continuing mission is to reach people experiencing homelessness living outdoors or in shelters in Southeastern Connecticut, as well as through other area charitable organizations. Volunteer-based, this outreach operates 52 weeks a year.
Our mission is to help people retain or regain a sense of dignity and hope, while helping them navigate difficult circumstances. While we address immediate needs beginning with food, clothing and love, MALTA also assists connecting people to additional resources available in the community. These connections affect the whole person and produce better outcomes.

STREET OUTREACH
Malta teams go out into camps and shelters at set times weekly. We offer hot food, sandwich packs, nutritious snacks, beverages and more. Additionally, we supply basic toiletry items, clothing - including brand-new socks and underwear, tops, bottoms, shoes, jackets, hats & gloves (seasonally). The population of people we serve who are homeless consists of relatively equal numbers of men and women.
To learn more about how you can help, contact Executive Director Lori McClain at (860) 373-3975 or email lori.malta.inc@gmail.com.
There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be open handed to your brothers and sisters, and to the poor and needy in your land.
