October 2022

Okay. Be honest. Who NEEDED to be reminded of this today? Although we all benefit from reading the Word, it’s those times when we NEED to hear a particular truth that we fully EXPERIENCE God.

Praise the Lord for His steadfast (unending, stand-by-you no matter what) love and the mercies that are tailored to the exact situation we find ourselves in! Praise Him for the new “morning,” whether it comes as the dawning of a renewed sense of peace or a second (third, fourth, fifth…) chance to repent. Praise Him for His faithfulness even when we are unfaithful to Him.

Take Heart. Revel in this Perfect Parent, Holy God relationship. Praise Him and "share of His wonderful works" in your life!

Your Fellow Work-in-Progress,

Lori

"The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;

His mercies never come to an end;

They are new every morning;

Great is Your faithfulness"

Lamentations 3:22-23

UPDATES:

Those of you who have been Street Ministry Volunteers in Groton/New London for the last several years will remember Kay who had a place in the campsite in the woods behind Faith Lutheran Church. Thank you for your prayers last month. PRAISE THE LORD! “Remarkably” (to quote an involved social worker) Kay left the campsite quietly accompanied by very kind officers who took her to live at her daughter’s home in Groton, upon her request on the very day the Town required her to vacate. So now ALL the folks who had been located at that site over the last few years are in housing and most all have accepted the Lord and are part of local churches, growing and flourishing as citizens and Christians. God indeed has blessed your faithfulness in ministry.

ARE YOU A LANDLORD OR DO YOU KNOW ANY? Housing is SO scarce here in New London County. We can help pair individuals and families who are facing or experiencing homeless through agencies that would see that the rent is subsidized or covered completely. Please call me ((860) 373-3975) with or for more information.

HELP MALTA SHARE OUR GOOD WORK WITH THE COMMUNITY AND HELP US GAIN SUPPORT TO CONTINUE! I would LOVE the opportunity to come to speak to your group at church, in your business, club, association or school, any time, any day off the week (even the 7 am meetings! Thank you Ledyard Rotary for this month’s opportunity). Got a friend or relative who is interested in community service through a civic association? Feel free to hare my contact info with them. We need to get the word out and get ongoing support in!

PLEASE PRAY:

for the following individuals who are facing or experiencing Homelessness. They are trying to get work, childcare, and housing!

- Ramia and her four children

- Rebecca & her partner and their 3 special needs boys

- Michael and his soon to be 5 year-old son

- Autumn & Angel
